Leliavsky in terrorists’ captivity for two weeks already

06.08.2014, 23:21

The Lviv journalist and freelance correspondent for ZIK Yuri Leliavsky is still in captivity of the terrorists of the so-called Luhansk People’s Republic. It is almost two weeks since anybody had any contact with him; nobody has any information as to his whereabouts.

On July 23, he was taken prisoner by the terrorists for the second time. He accompanied a group of priests to cover their missionary activities in the combat zone, and they were captured in Luhansk oblast.  A week later it became known that he is alive and is kept prisoners together with people that were captured with him – the terrorists were holding them in the captured building of Luhansk oblast state administration.

Previous time, he was taken prisoner in Donetska oblast on April 25 when filming as during the search the gunmen found his passport with registration in Lviv. He was kept in captivity for 15 days and later released.
