Ukrainske Radio host Liudmyla Tiahnyriadno reported in a Facebook post that the building where she lives had been declared unsafe after it was hit by a Russian drone, but the residents have yet been unable to receive proper assistance and compensation.
The Russian drone hit the building on 27 December 2025. The journalist says that 21 apartments were assigned “possible collapse zone” status, which means that living in them may be dangerous.

Liudmyla Tiahnyriadno said that in the days following the drone strike, volunteers and neighbours had helped with boarding up the broken windows in the affected apartments. Residents also had to repair the damaged communication systems in the building.
The journalist said that several of her neighbours had received 10 thousand hryvnias from the city authorities, but most were still waiting for the aid. Moreover, the affected neighbours could not apply for “eRestoration” because the damage assessment commission has not yet arrived.
“Yes, I understand that there are many such buildings in Kyiv and our situation is not the worst, but shouldn’t such commissions step up their work so that people don’t have to wait for an assessment for months and then wait even longer to get compensated for the damages. And it’s a mystery how one goes about getting the promised 20 thousand hryvnias to rent a place; so far no one has been able to use this ‘service,’” the journalist explained.
The journalist added that her neighbour had been killed in the drone strike. His wife, who had been in a coma for a long time, has since come to. The doctors’ prognoses for her recovery are cautious.
