Ukrainian Foreign Affairs Minister Dmytro Kuleba said that russian state media must be shut down. He wrote about this on Twitter.

"Russian state media does not represent an alternative point of view and has nothing to do with media freedom. It’s state propaganda with a single aim of distorting reality, ruining democracies, and destroying the freedom of speech. Don’t try to shout it down, just shut it down," Kuleba said.

As IMI reported, on March 2, the EU urgently stopped the broadcasting of russian media outlets Sputnik and RT / Russia Today on the territory of the European Union. In June, the EU banned the broadcasting of three russian TV channels: Rossiya 24, Rossiya RTR, and TVC.

In the meantime, the russian propaganda channel RT has created over a dozen copies of its websites in other languages to bypass the restrictions.
