Kremenchuk journalists demand authorities to open access to public information

13.05.2016, 16:55

Journalists and civil activists of Kremenchuk (Poltavska oblast) addressed a letter to the city mayor Vitaliy Maletskyi, in which they request to make the work of the city council, as well as of its executive committee and its structural subdivisions transparent and open as it should be. The "Reporter"’s journalist Yulia Bylyna reported this to the local IMI representative.

On May 12, Kremenchuk project “Open Access” presented the results of monitoring of the official website of Kremenchuk city council related to adherence to legislation of Ukraine on public information and data transparency. The activists’ summary was, according to Bylyna, that a lot of information that should be there according to the law is either missing entirely, or is located or presented so inconveniently that it is difficult to find it.
