Krayina magazne is going out of print starting 2026, the news outlet reported in a Facebook post.
The reasons include a war-related drop in the audience count, the death of the print media sales network, and difficulties with delivering copies to subscribers.
“It is with great sadness that we have to to announce: starting 2026, the Krayina magazine will no longer be published in print. We withstood the blow of the war, but reality has become no less harsh since then. Part of our audience has left or is fighting for survival, the print media sales network is gone, and the conditions for the delivery of copies to subscribers leave little to no room for us to work,” the news outlet said.
The team stressed that they were not saying goodbye to readers completely and would be looking for opportunities to continue the life of the magazine in a different format.
The weekly magazine Krayina has been owned by Nova Informatsiya Publishing Group since 2009.
The magazine’s zero issue was released on 13 November 2009. It has been available for purchase through subscription or from retailers since early 2010. Over the years, 689 issues have been published.
The news outlet only paused printing in the spring of 2022 due to Russia’s full-scale invasion. The magazine continued to release weekly issues online in PDF. Printing was resumed in April, and the magazine has been publishing two issues a month since November 2022 and to this day, said the media holding’s chief producer Oleksandr Kharchenko in an interview to Detector Media.
