Kirovohrad oblast: unknown set on fire TV and radio company

01.03.2017, 15:23

On the night of 28 February, in Aleksandria (Kirovohrad region), unknown set fire to the premises of the local broadcasting company "Contact-LTD". It is reported by the local edition of "Oleksandria news."

"Staff of the security firm "Jaguar" told us about the fact of arson. They arrived on the scene by the call of installed alarm in the room. At the time of their arrival, the flames began to cover the walls and the window. However, we avoided significant damage of a property by timely actions of guards and employees of our company, who lived nearby and came by the guards call. As it was discovered, unknown had drilled a hole  in one of the windows,  through which arsonists  filled the room with some flammable mix - gasoline or diesel fuel,"- TV company editor Viktor Holoborodko commented to the IMI representative in Kirovohrad oblast.

The leadership of "Contact-LTD" consider this action as an attempt to intimidate journalists of the channel that once covered the prominent events of local and regional importance and as one of the main versions. Media workers do not rule out the possibility of unlawful actions from the side of competitors.
Currently, representatives of the media turned to law enforcement officers, who work at the scene, on the fact of the arson. The investigation has not yet called the previous versions.
