Khmelnytskyi oblast authorities promise better communication with journalists after meeting initiated by IMI Mediabaza
Khmelnytskyi media professional had an off the record meeting with representatives of the oblast authorities, the Security and Defense Forces, and law enforcement. The event was initiated by the Institute of Mass Information's regional journalist hub Mediabaza Khmelnytskyi with the support of the Khmelnytskyi Oblast Military Administration.
The meeting had been needed for almost three years, but could only be arranged now. The participants discussed the following issues:
- restrictions on access to information for journalists under martial law, in particular information on the damage to civilian objects;
- comments from officials being inaccessible to district media workers;
- communication with representatives of the Defense Forces;
- issues in working with information queries.

The discussion with the authorities lasted more than two hours.
Following the meeting, the oblast leadership promised to develop mechanisms for interaction with media professionals to improve the communication situation in the oblast. Journalists, for their part, will monitor what action the administration takes to resolve the problems raised.
