Kharkiv police probes into threats to journalist

In Kharkiv, police opened criminal proceedings into case of obstruction to a journalist to fulfill one’s professional activities, as “Depo.Kharkiv”  reported citing department of communication of police in the Kharkiv region.

On January 14, the police was alerted by some journalist who said to have been threatened by a person whose activity he was investigating for his article.

Police questioned the man and registered his complaint.

This fact was entered into the Unified Register of pre-trial investigations under Part 1 of Art. 345-1 ("Threat or violence against a journalist") of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for imprisonment for up to three years.
