26.01.2018, 17:42
President of "Radio Free Europe / Radio Liberty" Ton Kent defends the program "Skhemy" which published details about the vacations of the President of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko. This was reported by "Radio Liberty". According to him, after publication of the investigation results "Mr. Petro Incognito. President's secret vacation", where the journalists of "Skhemy" told about the secret travel of Poroshenko to Maldives, they were criticized by the President's supporters. They questioned the subject of the investigation and professional qualities of the journalists. In addition, the journalists faced numerous attempts to hack their e-mails and social network accounts and messengers. Kent condemned the attempts to obstruct the work of the journalists, "to discredit or intimidate them, online or otherwise". On January 18, program "Skhemy" aired a story on how the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko spent his Christmas vacation at Maldives. Poroshenko took a private plane together with 7 other passengers. They most likely did not use their real names and evaded passport control.
