Journalists were not allowed to see ex-PM Tymoshenko
On April 7, 2013, Ukrainian media were not allowed to enter the Central Hospital of Ukrzaliznytsya in Kharkiv, where ex-Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko is held, UNIAN reported.
At around 12.05, oppositional MP Arsen Avakov, together with some 30 journalists, went to the 9th floor of the hospital, where the Tymoshenko’s chamber is situated.
However, the convoy, which stood at the entrance to the block, refused to let the lawmaker and journalists to the former prime minister, and said that they did not have any respective orders from the penitentiary leadership. MP Avakov and reporters descended to the hospital’s yard.
Earlier Tymoshenko urged journalists to arrive on April 7 to visit her in the hospital.
