The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkiavichius was set up by Russian journalists from the state-owned TV channel NTV, Novoye Vremia reports, with reference to Delfi.
The channel’s journalists called the minister and introduced themselves with false identities. In the actual TV version that was released, the broadcast was arranged in such a way that it was creating impression that someone who introduced himself as the Minister of Justice of Ukraine was calling the Lithuanian Minister, thus creating a completely wrong context for the interview. The Minister’s Press attaché Kestutis Vaškelevičius said that it was a manipulation used for provocative purposes.
