Journalist won appeal in case on access to contracts of "Naftogaz"

12.10.2017, 12:20
Journalist of “Ukrainska pravda” Tetiana Kozyreva won her appeal in the case related to access to contracts of National Joint Stock Company “Naftogaz”, entered into with the Belgian company CabinetDN and American Company ValueBridge. This was reported by “Dostup do pravdy”, with reference to Facebook entry of Tetiana Kozyreva in Facebook. Be, "Naftogaz" filed an appeal against the judgement of the first instance court. "The company does not want to publish its contract with lobbists so much that it filed an appeal to contest our victory in the first instance. An irony of fate is that "Naftogaz" lost it, too" - Tetiana Kozyreva commented. The media outlet reminds that the information request to “Naftogaz” was sent in the process of journalist investigation of American lobbists. “In short, the story is too well-known since Yanukovych times. Do you remember "European Centre for a Modern Ukraine"? The organization in Brussels headed by German Ina Kirsch-Van de Water, paid the services of American lobbists for the funds taken from “black accounting” of the PArty of Regions. So, the state company "Naftogaz" ordered the services of American lobbiests ValueBridge via the Belgian company CabinetDN. The state company refused to provide the copies of the contracts with them "due to their commercial nature".”, this was the reasoning behind the interest of the journalist in the contracts of "Naftogaz". The claim to the first instance court was supported by the initiative “To court for access”, initiated by IMI representative Nadiya Virna. this initiative compensates journalists and activists expenses for court fees related to claims defending the right for information.
