Journalist who interrupted a pro-Russian rally in Berlin reports Telegram hack attempt

22.11.2024, 14:59

Someone tried to hack the Telegram account of Volyn journalist Olha Bulkovska, who interrupted a rally featuring pro-Russian narratives in Berlin earlier.

Olha Bulkovska reported this on Facebook and shared the details with Maya Holub, the Institute of Mass Information representative in Volyn oblast.

The journalist told the IMI representative that she received a notification about someone trying to log in to her Telegram account on November 21.

She notes that this is the first hacking attempt on her Telegram profile since she first registered in 2017.

Olha Bulkovska does not rule out that this may be related to the situation that occurred in Berlin on November 17.

Furthermore, the journalist noted that she is receiving many friendship requests by bots on Facebook: dozens per day.

A "Ukrainian men's rights" rally featuring Russian propaganda slogans took place in the center of Berlin on November 17. The participants of the rally carried posters that read, in English: "Stop Zelensky’s crimes," "Zelensky is a loser dictator," and so on. The rally was interrupted after Volyn journalist Olha Bulkovska approached them with questions.
