Journalist Union claims new editor-in-chief of newspaper "Novomyrhorodshchyna" is assigned illegally
The newly elected Novomyrhorodska rayon council (Kirovohradska oblast) at its second session in December of 2015 assigned Yuriy Stoyanov the editor-in-chief of the local communal newspaper «Novomyrhorodshchyna» instead of Volodymyr Piskovyi, whose contract expired. Piskovyi now sues against this resolution, as according to his opinion, assignment of the new editor-in-chief of the newspaper (the founder of this newspaper are the rayon council and rayon state administration) was conducted with violations (for example, the new editor-in-chief has no relevant education). The National Union of Journalists of Ukraine also claims that the assignment of the new editor-in-chief involved several violations. This information was reported by mediasapiens, with reference to the National Union of Journalists' press service.
