Journalist of Channel 7 in Odesa reports threats after publication of her story about city mayor

In Odesa, the journalist of the local Channel 7, who works in the investigation department of the program “Normalni,” Mariya Kovaliova, reported receiving threats after publication of her story about the activities of the city mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov, USY Odesa reports.

According to Kovaliova, the threats come from people close to the city mayor, and are related to her professional activities. As a part of her investigation, she was monitoring the mayor’s working schedule for a week. The journalist says that someone called her father and gave him a hint that his daughter might be in danger if she does not stop investigating the city mayor.

The mayor's press service, when asked for a comment, reported that the mayor is travelling abroad, and it is impossible to take his comment on the situation.
