Journalist Iryna Fedoriv’s car tire punctured by unidentified men

08.06.2017, 00:03

In the morning of June 7, in the village of Kotsiubynske two men punctured a tire of a Nissan Note. This car belongs to journalist and local activist Iryna Fedoriv. This was reported by the website "Hromada Pryirpinnia."

“We were just getting ready to take our child to the kindergarten, when we noticed the tire on the driver’s side was flat because of a cut. We went to the service station and were told that the knife at first did not cut the tire as the place was poorly chosen but from the second attempt, they cut the tire through. I will have to buy a new one.”

Fedoriv checked the local video surveillance footage to see the perpetrators, and expected it to be deep into the night, but they did it in the morning around 9 a.m., when many people were in the street. The video clearly shows the two perpetrators,  one on the lookout, and the other one squatting near the car and puncturing the tire near the driver’s seat.

In her comment for IMI Iryna Fedoriv, who is the co-founder of the website "Hromada Pryirpinnia" said that she links this incident to her professional activities as her website has been for several years already promoting establishment of a national park in Bilychanskyi wood and saving it from development.

In 2012, Iryna Fedoriv received threats and was provided with the security detail.
