Journalist from Volyn complains about uncooperative conduct of press service of Volynska Oblast State Administration

17.10.2015, 14:53

Journalist of the online media outlet «VolynPost» Natalka Polishchuk is outraged by her communication with the head of the information policy department of Volynska Oblast State Administration, Svitlana Holovachuk. According to the journalist, Holovachuk obstructs access to information. She made a record on this in her blog on October 13, and regional IMI correspondent reports on this.

As the journalist mentioned, this is not the first time she gets this kind of treatment from the State Administration’s official press service, which she can only describe as "impediment in access to public information".

«It is practically impossible for a journalist to interview the head of Volynska Oblast State Administration Volodymyr Hunchak. After all meetings, he mysteriously disappears, leaving Svitlana behind. And her conversation with journalists is limited to words "Write me a request". It does not even matter, what question a correspondent wanted to ask, the answer is always the same», Natalka Polishchuk writes. According to her, her last meeting with Svitlana Holovachuk ended with her raising her tone at the journalist and driving her away from her office. She refused to answer questions, and instead demanded official requests and a letter from editorial office. Also, she said that oral requests are not stipulated by the law, and thus she is not obliged to answer them.
