Journalist fired from Cherkaska TV company claims company’s director general broke her arm

Alla Demchenko, a journalist who was fired from Cherkaska oblast  state TV and Radio Company “Ros” claims that the company’s director Mykhailo Kalinichenko broke her arm during the resolution of the conflict over her reinstatement. She told about this to a local online media outlet “Vchasno.” According to Demchenko, the company’s management was recently replaced and the new management unlawfully fired her from the position of the producer general. She went to court and the court decided that she was to be reinstated.

On March 12, during the meeting on which Demchenko was supposed to be reinstated she heard that the director’s order on her reinstatement violated the labor code and did not follow the court decision. Demchenko was recording video of the meeting and Kalinichenko demanded that she stopped, tried to take away her camera by force. Demchenko had to seek medical attention, she had a broken arm. Demchenko filed a complaint with the police, the investigation is pending.
