The editor of Poltava oblast newspaper “Kolo” and chief editor of the website kolo.news Tetiana Tsyrulnyk received threats over the phone three months ago, were made from pre-trial detention facility. This was reported by online media outlet  “Poltavshchyna” with a reference to the register of court resolutions. According to the materials of the case, on May 25, on 17.43, Tetiana Tsyrulnyk received a call from phone with number +380950661506. She did not manage to take the call and called back. A man answered, who advised the journalist to take care of her health. She took these words as a threat and complained to the police, and police started a criminal proceeding on threat to journalist (part 1 of article 345-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The investigators were able to find the phone (in the cell No.135 in local detention facility) and the person who called. The owner of the phone confessed that he called Tetiana Tsyrulnyk "just to communicate" and claims that he just "wished her a good health". The person was convicted for three cases of theft this time, but he had seven previous convictions. The investigation of threats to the editor is still pending.
