Instances of obstruction to journalist activities at elections were few – Committee of Voters of Ukraine

In the course of the elections of the President of Ukraine, instances of obstruction by election committees /committee members to professional activities of representatives of media outlets were few. Denial to official observers of access to concluding sessions of election committees voting stations closed down happened far more often. This was reported by the Committee of Voters of Ukraine (CVU). According to CVU, the off-year presidential elections in Ukraine at majority of voting stations (more than 90%) were conducted in compliance with the international standards of fair and democratic elections, without any significant or systemic violations of the effective legislation. This data was presented ay the press conference on May 26 in Kyiv by the CVU director general Oleskander Chernenko.
