23.03.2017, 10:51

Babynsk local joint community (Rivne oblast) doesn't respond on requests for information of Rivne journalist Yuri Dyuh, which he sent in early March. Dyuh reported about it on his Facebook page and confirmed to IMI representative in Rivne region.

Journalist and head of NGO "Anti-corruption monitoring" Yuri Dyuh said, that his colleagues and he conducted the study on transparency and openness of local joint communities in Rivne oblast. They want to identify gaps in the visibility of these communities and help eliminate them. There are 18 existing local communities in Rivne, and they choose 6 communities from different districts, Babynsk local community was among them.

According to the journalist, all other joint communities answered on time on requests, and representatives of communities talked willingly. "Yes, they have things to be worked out, but they are willing to correct them," - the journalist said.

IMI representative in Rivne region also tried to call the head of Babynsk joint local community Oleh Hrechych and reception of village council, yet no one answered the phone.

Yuri Dyuh plans to appeal to the Ukrainian parliament commissioner for human rights about the denial in access to public information.
