Independent Media Trade Union and National Association of Journalists of Ukraine demand sanctions for "Minister" of Crimea Polonskyi and are outraged by OSCE’s inconsistency

01.10.2015, 23:18

The Independent Media Trade Union and the National Association of Journalists of Ukraine demand from the Ukrainian government to respond to the fact of the “Minister of internal policy, information, and communication” of the occupied Crimea Dmytro Polonskyi’s presence at the OSCE Forum in Warsaw where he presented his report on the situation in Crimea.

“Polonskyi actively participated in seizing of the Ukrainian Crimea by Russia and further annexation of the peninsula, and now introduces censorship and facilitates elimination of independent mass media and repressions against journalists who adhere to professional standards", reads the declaration released by the two organizations. The associations are outraged by inaction of the Ukrainian government and by OSCE inviting the minister of the Crimean occupational "government" in an official capacity as a speaker, as this legitimizes the occupation.
