In Zhytomyrska oblast, correspondent of “Zhytomyr.Today” went missing

08.06.2015, 01:03

On June 6, in Zhytomyrska oblast, the correspondent of the local media outlet “Zhytomyr.Today” and civil activist Vasyl Khomiuk, 28 years old, went missing. The editor-in-chief of “Zhytomyr.Today” Hanna Daniuk-Cherkashyna reported this. The journalist's last assignment was in a local village, where a youth mountain climbing contest was held. The last contact with the journalist was on June 6 at 11.55, when he called and said he was heading back. He never returned, and until now, no one knows where he is. Police was engaged for the search. The editor says that this journalist did not really do any jobs with sensitive materials that could get him into trouble, except the case with con-men who introduced to their victims as tax police officers. Still, it is unclear if the journalist's job has anything to do with his disappearance.
