In Zhytomyr, journalist demands that police treat attack against him as assault due to his professional activity

The city police department of Zhytomyr was picketed by people demanding to "protect journalist Moroz from criminals". The supporters of the local journalist demanded to requalify the criminal case against the people who attacked him into the case of attacking a journalist for his professional activity. Chief of city police Mykhailo Soroka came out to the picket and asked the people "not to turn the case political". Ruslan Moroz is assured that he was beaten for his professional activities, for his criticism of current authorities for corruption. On June 10, 2017, the journalist of the newspaper «20 khvylyn» Ruslan Moroz was beaten and mugged near his house. The attackers took the video recording equipment belonging to the newspaper. Moroz claims that he received threats many times, but complains that police for some reason does not consider this version a primary one.
