In Zhytomyr, hired thug impedes journalists of Сhannel 5. Police does nothing.

04.01.2016, 12:02

On January in Zhytomyr, according to journalist of Channel 5 Oksana Trokoz, an unidentified person who participated in the conflict  around the confectionary “Zhytomyrski lasoshchi”, tried to pry off the microphone from her and hit the camera held by cameraman Ihor Kostash. Police refused to respond to the offence. Trokoz reported the incident on her Facebook page.

“At the confectionary “Zhytomyrski lasoshchi,” we are filming how representatives of one owner fight hired thugs of the other one (the thugs got into the factory together with police and they use the same fireplace to warm up). One of the conflict participants dislikes the fact that we record, and he tries to pry off my mic and hits the camera”, she wrote.

The journalists complained to the head of local police, Rudyk, about his subordinates ignoring the offences against journalists, but the police chief said they should "just call 102". Later his subordinates called back and asked if they can recognized the thug, but "the first impression of how much police cares was already formed", journalists wrote.
