06.05.2016, 12:37

Larysa Prykhodko, editor of the newspaper «SNK», Chop, addressed with a complaint the Secretariat of the Ombudsman for Human Rights regarding violation of the right for information. The editor published her complaint on her Facebook page, and confirmed it for «Access to truth».

On March 14, Larysa Prykhodko sent an information request to Nova Davydivka village council in Mukachevo rayon. She requested information and documents for mining gravel, clay and sand in the river of Latorytsia, and information about land plots granted by the village council in 2010–2015.

In response, the village council requested a package of the newspaper’s registration documents, and licenses of journalists. The response was signed by the acting village head Adrian Skyba, who is the secretary of the village council, according to their website. They refer to the Law "On access to public information, yet this law does not describe anything about the need of registration documents of a media outlet in the information request – just the return address, description of information, and date.
