In Volyn, officers were impeding journalists

19.04.2016, 21:35

On April 4 in the village of Rymachi, Volynska oblast, the journalist of Hromadske Radio of Volyn Iryna Musiy and her colleagues were not allowed to the building of the local customs office, where the journalists wanted to meet the acting head of Volyn Customs Oleksander Shavlak. Iryna Musiy reported this to IMI.

According to her, the journalists wanted to receive his comment on the commissioned protest action that was held against him near the same building earlier. The officers did not allow them to get in, although some people from the "Ukrop" party and the "Order Guards" were allowed into the office building. Customs officers did not answer why they were letting these people through, but not journalists. The journalists had to wait for a long time until they finally were able to meet the official, and the customs internal security officer was recording the journalists using his video camera.
