In Vinnytsia, unidentified men headed by Parliamentary candidate from "Batkivshchyna" attacked journalists at press conference of ex-member of "Party of Regions"

On October 20, in Vinnytsia a group of unidentified men attacked local journalists during the press conference of the Parliamentary candidate, previously a member of the Party of Regions parliamentary faction Viktor Zherebniuk. This was reported by Vinnytsia Daily.

The incident took place in Vinnytsia press club. The group of unidentified men together with the Parliamentary candidate from "Batkivshchyna" Yanuariy Shostak disrupted Viktor Zherebniuk’s press conference and attacked the journalists that tried to stop the disorder.

The attackers were holding posters demanding purge of the Party of Regions supporters; among them there was the press secretary of Vinnytsia oblast branch of the «Batkivshchyna» party Maryna Karabay; the group leader, Yanuariy Shostak, had with him a funeral wreath and a coffin, he was cursing at the journalists and behaving aggressively. When the head of the press club Natalia Bolkhovska tried to prevent the disorder the attackers started to twist her arms, push her and curse at her. Then the aggressive young men began to throw eggs and tried to carry into the hall the coffin and the wreaths. They also pushed the journalists that tried to protect Bolkhovska.

The journalists submitted a complaint to the police about the attack.
