In Uzhhorod, journalists were forbidden to film at city bus station

23.06.2016, 00:54

In Uzhhorod, employees of the central bus station were forbidding the journalists to film near bus platforms: they claimed that bus station is private property, and the journalists need special permission from the administration for any recording.

As IMI representative in Zakarpatska oblast clarified, the journalists, Yaryna Denysiuk from the online media outlet “Zaholovok” and Diana Fusko from the TV channel “Tysa-1” came to the city bus station on June 16 to cover the process of inspection of the station by “Ukrtransinspektsiya” experts.

At that, the staff of “Zakarpatavtotrans” was ordering the journalists to stop video recording. Later, the director of “Zakarpatavtotrans” Yosyp Krecho, who came to the station, mentioned that the journalists needed to inform him about the video recording in advance.

The journalists called police. Police officers, upon arrival, confirmed that the journalists have a right to conduct photo and video recording. After that, the journalists continued their work.
