In the forest in Cherkaska oblast, activist and journalist Vasyl Serhienko was found tortured to death

The body of Vasyl Serhienko, a local political activist and journalist, who disappeared earlier, was found dead with signs of torture, with a plastic bag on his head, with knife wounds, broken knees and handcuffs on his hands in the forest in Korsun-Shevchenkivskyi rayon of Cherkaska oblast. This information was received by the media outlet “Procherk” from the head of the local “Svoboda” party branch, Yuriy Botnar.

Serhienko was kidnapped on April 4, around 8.30 p.m., in the town of Korsun-Shevchenkivskyi, in the yard of his own house. “Svoboda” representatives speculate that his kidnapping and murder was related to articles about shady activities of the local oligarch, deputy of the Party of Regions, Hennadiy Bobov. However, local journalists disprove this information and surmise that the murder could have been connected with his political activities, as he did not write journalist investigations.
