In Soumy region editorial office robbed, editor in chief threatened

11.03.2019, 17:33
At Bilopillya (Soumy region) some unknown persons broke into the premises of the editorial office of a local newspaper “Media plus”, they stole the office equipment and left a note with threatens, as a regional correspondent of IMI told. The incident happened at night of March 9th. The robbers broke window at the first floor, seized three notebooks and left the office in a mess. They left a note with threatens at the table of the editor in chief “Get away, things!” The police instituted the criminal proceedings over the fact of robbery and intrusion into some premises, but does not relate the incident to professional activity of journalists of the editorial office. As Tetyana Kuksa, editor in chief told, lately, the newspaper did not publish any highly critical report, nor story to the benefit of some candidate for the presidency. But the incident could be linked to the business competition at the media market. The employees of the editorial office had been threatened not once by the competitors in the past, through social networks or in person, she said.
