In Slovyansk, fighters kept journalists of ICTV as prisoners for several hours
On May 8, the filming crew of ICTV was stopped by separatists at one of the checkpoints near Slovyansk. Threatening them with assault rifles, they searched the journalists, took their equipment and took them prisoners. After several hours of search, interrogation, and abuse, the journalists managed to break free, the channel informs at its website. After the combatants’ phrases like “finally we caught you” and “all Ukrainian journalists are fascists”, it was understandable they will not listen to the journalists’ arguments that they intend only to film the events in the region, the journalists said. The separatists’ commander said he’d gladly arrest them, but all premises in the basement where they keep journalists, were full already. So they forced the filming crew to take their car and drive away.
