In Poltavska oblasts, two attacks against journalists took place

13.11.2015, 21:43

In Poltavska oblast in the last day, journalists were attacked in two separate cases.

As police informs, around midday on November 12 in Lubny, a local TV company journalist was recording some footage at one of the city streets. As he did this, a 53-year-old passer-by came up to the journalist, told him he was not happy with this, and tried to damage the camera. Police officers were nearby, and they managed to prevent the offence timely.

The attacker was officially warned that his actions can be qualified as petty hooliganism. After the explanation, the journalist and the attacker were reconciled.

In the evening of the same day, video-blogger Oleksander Demidovych found himself in a rough situation – as he returned home, two attackers assaulted him. He was tripped and pushed in the back. The attackers did not try to steal anything or beat him, after taking him down they fled immediately. Demidovych did not file a complaint to the police, yet he mentioned that in the same day he received a threat from a civil activist.
