In Poltava, police officer attacked journalist trying to beat off camera from his hand

19.11.2015, 01:49

On November 17 in Poltava, police sergeant Filenko assaulted the journalist of “Hromadske TV.Poltava” Anatoliy Melezhyk, trying to beat the camera off from his hands. The media outlet’s website reports about this case.

The incident took place when the journalist tried to get some footage for his documentary on recruitment of volunteers to the new police of Poltava. As can be seen on the footage, the police officer said: “I ask you, do not record me”, and started hitting at the camera. The journalist demanded the officer to show his ID, and the officer refused at first, but then had to show it, yet only for a second - the journalist was able to read just the last name.
