On May 18 in Poltava, police officers attacked the journalist of Poltava Hromadske TV Anatoliy Melezhyk before the court session on the case of Kharkiv mayor, Hennadiy Kernes, Hromadske TV informs.
According to Melezhyk, police officers attacked him when he tried to make a video record of how riot police was blocking off the court room from press representatives (only 10 journalists were allowed to be present at the court session). The session, however, was cancelled for fear of the security unit’s commander over the life of the suspect, who presumably was under threat of being shot. The session was postponed to May 28, 2015.
