In Poltava, journalist not allowed to record video in local university

07.05.2016, 18:16

On May 4 in Poltava, employees of Poltava National Technical University (PoltNTU) did not allow the journalist of Hromadske TV.Poltava Olena Kuzina to record footage inside the University building, the channel website reports.

The journalist tried to gather material for the story about technical conditions of local educational institutions. The head of security guards Ihor Mishchanyn and his subordinates forced the journalist from the University building, giving as an excuse a "terrorist threat" and his internal instructions. The channel mentions that such response is unique as they visited several educational institutions earlier to gather data, and none of them tried to force the journalists to leave. The journalist said she will try to contact the University administration, and if she is denied access again, she will call police and file a complaint about illegal actions of the administration.
