In Poltava, during clash in court woman hit journalist’s phone

13.06.2017, 12:23

On June 12, in the Court of Appeal of Poltavska oblast, after the hearing of the case about the knife fight near the archway “Hazetnyi Riad”, an unidentified woman hit the phone, with which the journalist of the NGO “Poltavska Platforma” Anna Yehorova was recording the video of the session, making her let go of the phone. This was reported by the IMI representative in Poltavska oblast.

The incident took place after the court session was over, when a quarrel broke out between the activists and people who came over from Kremenchuk to support the defendants.

“It is like a badge of honor for a journalist, when in court Kremenchuk hired thugs hits your phone. Some guy from the security advised me to forgive the woman but probably I am not ready yet to understand how outsiders can behave in such a way in my city. I filed a complaint with police, I am ready for a fight. I thank everybody for their support, especially Mykola Lysohor, who recorded their entire incident on video – it will help with the case. I am not publishing the video in the interest of the investigation (I hope there will be one)”, the journalist wrote on her Facebook page.

In her comment to the IMI representative, Anna Yehorova shared that the unidentified woman was grabbing her arms, getting in the way of the camera, and later snatched her phone from her hands.

After the incident, Yehorova filed a complaint in Zhovtnevy rayon police station, in which she informed that when she was on an editorial assignment, some unidentified woman was obstructing her work.
