In Poltava, city council member threatened journalist with physical violence for criticism against him

27.04.2016, 23:42

On April 27, during a session of Poltava city council, journalist of the online media outlet “Ostanniy Bastion” Serhiy Nahornyi was impeded in performing his assignment by council member Serhiy Cherednichenko (Petro Poroshenko’s Bloc “Solidarnost”). The journalist reported this to IMI representative in Poltavska oblast. According to the journalist, when he tried to take photos of some of council members, Cherednichenko among them, Cherednichenko came up to the journalist and whispered some threats to the journalist's ear: he threatened to have him beaten and promised to participate in the process personally. The council member was not happy with someone photographing him, but the main reason, according to the journalists, are articles with criticism against Cherednichenko, published on the website of "Ostanniy Bastion".
