In Pervomaisk, part of electoral committee members voted for removal of journalist from session

06.10.2015, 13:15

On October 4,  Pervomaisk electoral committee (Mykolaivska oblast) voted to remove all journalists, observers, and candidates from the session room. "Prestupnosti.NET" informs about this, referring to information from the press secretary of the Civil Network "OPORA" in Mykolaivska oblast, Aliona Melnykova.

According to her, on October 3 the members of the committee conducted a session without informing anyone. At the session, they voted for nomination of the acting mayor as a candidate for mayor's office, but failed to make the decision as of 8 voters 2 were against this, and the number of needed votes was 10 (some did not vote). After this, the committee voted to remove everyone from the session room, including journalists, observers, and candidates, in breach of part 9, article 27 of the Law of Ukraine "On local elections".

As the media outlet reminds, the committee in question failed to implement the court decision - either to register, or not to register, with giving appropriate reasons, the acting mayor Dromashko in his nomination for mayor elections. Earlier, the committee denied Dromashko registration because she was still a member of the Party of Regions, while the application was filed as if she was a member of party "Nash Krai."
