On December 20, the National anti-corruption bureau (NACB) staff conducted search in the premises of Dumskaya TV on Kanatna Street in Odessa, as “Dumska TV” reported.

According to the staff of the TV channel, the search began around 9:30. The TV channel employees were not allowed to fulfil their work. The law enforcement officers seized computers and servers.

The search is due to the fact that the law enforcement officers have questions to one of the owners of the building, as to some previous report.

The management of the channel considered the searches as politically motivated and said that was a fact of pressure on freedom of speech.

The editor-in-chief of the Dumska TV channel Karolina Timkiv found that there was pressure on the mass media. According to her, a NACB employee did not presented her their identity cards and failed to say within what proceeding the searches were being carried out. They just did not let her in the workplace.

As of 12:42 p.m. the employees of the TV channel were allowed in. Searches were on in two offices.

As IMI reported, on December 20, the Odessa journalists claimed that there was no security of work in the region, as well as they were anxious of inaction of local officials as it was question of protection of freedom of speech and dignity.
