In Odesa, two men suspected of beating of journalist were detained

On October 19 in Odesa, police detained two men suspected of attacking a well known journalist, Svitlana Pidpala, in June of this year. This was reported by УНІАН with reference to the National Police Department in Odeska oblast. According to the head of the police department in Odeska oblast, Dmytro Holovin, the suspects were found and detained as a result of a complex of investigative actions. Pidpala is an activi participant of indpendent investigation conducted by the civil commission “May 2 group”, created in 2014 after civil disporders that caused death of 48 people. She also actively participates in various protest against destruction of green zone and development of the seaside area in Odesa. As IMI reported before, on June 24, during the day time, two unknown men attacked and beat the local journalist, blogger of “Dumska”, activist Svitlana Pidpala. The attackers were prepared for the attack and acted in a highly coordinated manner.
