In Odesa, SBU detained "Timer" journalist for "excessive interest in event"
On September 10, in Odesa, officers of the Security Service of Ukraine detained a freelance journalist, who works for the online media outlet "Timer," Kostiantyn Matiashov. After a conversation, the journalist was released. The journalist worked under assignment of the editorial office on the case of explosives found in a local penal institution. As the officers explained, he was interrogated as a witness due to "excessive interest in the event".
The employees of the media outlet "Timer" have been scrutinized by the Security Service of Ukraine lately – on May 14, the editor-in-chief of "Timer" had his apartment searched by SBU officers, an apartment of one of the "Timer" journalists Anton Dotsenko was also searched, and the journalist was interrogated.
