In Odesa, professor of Naval Academy and her students obstruct TV channel affiliated with Kivalov
On August 25 in Odesa, professor of Odesa National Naval Academy Halyna Kuyul and a group of her students detained the filming crew of Odesa TV channel “Akademia”, which was covering the visit of the President Petro Poroshenko to the educational institution. She and her students accused the journalist of slander (although they were just covering the President's visit), and in the end detained the filming crew and called police.
The TV channel "Akademia" is considered to be affiliated with Serhiy Kivalov, former MP, member of the Party of Regions, who was one of the influential people under Viktor Yanukovich, and still retains strong positions in his native Odesa. In spring of 2014, the channel was advertising the pro-Russian separatist movement "For Odesa with Russia".
