In Mykolayiv, on August 18, on the Central marketplace women working in the meat section attacked the journalists of the TV and Radio Company “Ukraina”, online media outlets “NikLife” and “Shipovnik.ua”, who were filming the examiner’s inspection. This was reported by the IMI representative in Mykolayivska oblast.
The journalists were filming the process of the executive director of the Union of Consumers of Ukraine Maksym Nesmiyanov inspecting the quality of foodstuffs on the marketplace. When they came to the meat pavilion, one of the vendors started a conflict with Nesmiyanov, arguing over what documents she has to provide for her goods and how long it can be kept outside the refrigerator.
She was joined by other marketplace vendors; one of them indignant over being filmed hit the cameras of the “NikLife” journalist Yuriy Yaholnik and “Shipovnik.ua” journalist Oleskandra Chernova.
The journalists summoned police but did not submit a complaint against the vendors.
