In Mykolayiv, road worker attacked journalist with shovel

On June 13, in Mykolayiv the correspondent of “Prestupnosti.NET” Taras Leontian was attacked with a shovel by a road worker, who threatened him with violence for filming the process of the road repairs. This was reported by the ІМІ representative in Mykolayivska oblast.

The journalist was facing obstruction from an employee of the LLC “Dorlider”, which is repairing the roadbed on Nikolska Street as commission by the Department of Housing and Utilities Infrastructure of Mykolayiv city council.

According to Leontian, the editorial office received a message from local residents that the road workers were spreading asphalt immediately after the rain directly into mire. The correspondent went on site to check the information and began filming.

At that moment, one of the workers noticed him and rushed after him with a shovel demanding that he left the repair location.
