In Mykolayiv, judge tried to remove journalists from open session

07.10.2014, 22:53

On October 6, in a court session to consider the case about a traffic accident caused by the head of the emergency response department of Mykolayiv Oblast State Administration Petro Kaminsky, the judge of Leninsky rayon court of the city of Mykolayiv Yuriy Krutiy tried, together with the accused’s lawyers, to remove the journalists from the session hall.

This was reported by Olena Melnykova, the correspondent of the online media outlet ‘Prestupnosti.Net’, on her Facebook page. She was one of the three journalists that attended the session. The judge insisted that he would not have them at the session as he did not invite them and that he did not give them permission to film or to record audio.

The journalists persuaded him not to break the law on court sessions, so he let them stay.
