In Mykolaiv, USSR lovers attacked journalist for disliking his questions

06.05.2015, 02:21

On May 1 in Mykolaiv, during an unplanned rally for the Communist Party, Russia, and restoration of the USSR on the city’s central square, the rally participants attacked the journalist of the online media outlet “NikVesti” Oleh Dereniuha, and tried to pry off his camera. The journalist asked one of the rally leaders what his name was and what organization he was with - the rally responded aggressively, accusing the journalist of "provocation", and one of the rally participants tried to pry off the camera. Presence of police prevented further conflict, yet rally participants continued to make it hard for the journalist to do his job - for example, covering his camera lens with balloons.
