In Mykolaiv, tax officers from Odesa attacked journalist and took his camera

17.07.2015, 13:12

On July 15 in Mykolaiv, near the regional branch of the National Bank of Ukraine, officers of the tax police attacked the journalist of the online media outlet "Novyny-N" Oleksander Vlashchenko, and took his camera that he was using, as the media outlet’s website reports.

The incident took place at the crossing of Velyka Morska and Faleyevska Streets, where the journalist arrived on the editorial assignment and started recording video. Two men wearing civilian clothes approached him, snapped the camera out of his hands, and retreated. The journalist called the police, but as city police arrived to the site the men introduced themselves as Odesa tax service officers. They returned camera to the journalist, but they deleted all materials he managed to record.
