In Mykolaiv, head of district court banned use of voice recorders by journalists during court session

The head of Korabelnyi district court in the city of Mykolaiv Volodymyr Bezprozvannyi banned journalists from recording an open court session. According to the judge, any such recording needs his special permission.

As a note, according to part 2, article 11 of the Law of Ukraine "On court procedures and status of judges", participants of court proceeding and other people present at an open session have a right to use sound recording devices - and the permission of the judge is necessary only for video recording and photography, or video broadcasting.
