In Lysychansk, armed men tried to take over TV and Radio Company "Akcent"
On October 11, in Lysychansk, a group of armed men tried to take over the local TV and Radio Company «Akcent». This was reported by the head of Luhansk oblast branch of the Committee of Voters of Ukraine Olkesiy Svetikov.
According Svetikov, armed men arrived to the building of the TV and Radio Company in a car with the inscription «Battalion Aidar» on a side. They said that they were asked to do so by the local elections committee.
At the moment, in the building there were volunteers of Vitaliy Shvedov, the representative of the Anti-Terrorist Operation Command in Lysychansk, who prevented the armed men from taking over the company. Later, officers of local police and the Security Service of Ukraine as well as fighters of the territorial battalions ‘Ternopil’ and ‘Luhan’ arrived at the site, and ‘Aidar’ fighters had to leave.
Svetikov believes this incident may be related to the parliamentary elections campaign.
